Indie Horror Alert: Killer Ink Tattoos Too Deep for Some in this Trailer

Killer Ink is a film from Under Fire Studios, which puts a tattoo artist in the role of a serial killer. However Karma comes back to haunt Gage when a friend goes missing. Can Gage bring the needle to bear on whoever has taken her? The trailer might give an answer to this question as Christopher C. Romero playing Gage shows off his knife throwing in the final scene.

The synopsis for Killer Ink here:

Gage (Christopher C. Romero) runs his own tattoo shop in a small town; he keeps to himself because he has to. When you are a killer anyone and everyone is against you! Gage struggles to find meaning in life and to let go of a torrid past. He finds his only pleasure in murder. Soon someone he cares about, Abby (Christine Miller), comes up missing and it's up to him to find her and put an end to whoever or whatever has taken her.

Director Lewis Leslie is constructing some Killer Ink for the screen in Colorado.

That's the title of his horror film starring Christopher Romero and Peter Mayhew, best known for playing that hirsute gunslinger named Chewbacca in Star Wars.

The production is being overseen by Under Fire Studios and is described as Dexter meets American Psycho. And I think that's an apt description based on his synopsis.

Gage (Romero) runs his own tattoo shop in a small town. He's also a serial killer and keeps to himself to protect his dark secret. Gage struggles to find meaning in life and finds his only pleasure is murder. But when someone he actually cares about comes up missing, it's up to him to find her and put an end to whoever or whatever has taken her. He suspects the missing girl's boyfriend, but nothing is certain as his father returns to his life after many years of absence. Gage struggles to balance a romantic relationship and his serial killer lifestyle. Should he give it up, give her up or let her in on his little secret?

The film also stars Valeri Kimbro, Lewis James, Ryan Martin and Kristin Kirkconnell Keating. Stay tuned for more as it comes in!

"Killer Ink" signs Peter Mayhew (Star Wars) and Gregg Stone (KBPI's "Uncle Nasty")

The upcoming feature film, “Killer Ink” by Denver filmmaker, Lewis Leslie recently made a splash in the local press when the filmmakers signed “Peter Mayhew” (Star Wars’ Chewbacca) to play a role in the film. They’ve also attached local celeb Gregg Stone, aka “Uncle Nasty” from KBPI.

Killer Ink” is the dreamchild of writer/director Lewis Leslie and producer/actor Christopher C. Romero. Lewis has been writing and working in film for six years. Chris was a featured actor in the films "H2" and "Things to Do in Denver When You're Dead". One day Chris turned to Lewis and told him he wanted to make a horror movie; the first draft of the script was written in ten days. Over the last few months, more and more actors and crew have been attached, and the script has gone through countless revisions. Now Under Fire Studios is set to produce the film, and principle photography starts July 9th in Brighton, CO.

Lewis says the film has been described as "

EXAMINER.COM - 6/29/10:

By Kathryn Gould

This is a continuation of the article on local Indie film “Killer Ink”, set to start filming July 9th.

Kathryn Gould: The biggest news so far in the production seems to be that
Peter Mayhew, who played Chewbacca in the Star Wars films, has been attached to the project. How did that happen and what role will he be playing?

Lewis Leslie: Peter Mayhew learned of this film from one of the other actors attached. Once we learned of his interest in the project, we got in touch with his management and reached a deal to have Peter play [the main character] Gage's uncle, Uncle Clyde.

KG: And what role will local celeb
Gregg Stone (KBPI’s Uncle Nasty) play?

LL: Gregg Stone will be playing Detective Cummings, who is on a search for his son who has gone missing. Once he stumbles across Gage's residence, he quickly realizes that something is out of the ordinary. Will he stick his nose too far into Gage's life to make it out alive?

KG: What are your plans for getting the film distributed?

LL: We are going to submit the final product to film festivals, local and nationwide, while simultaneously obtaining representation and submitting to film distribution companies.

Other cast members of “Killer Ink” are local actors
Christine Dawson as Abby, the girl who’s gone missing, Caleb Grusing playing her boyfriend Bob, and Valeri Kimbro as Gage’s love interest Becky.

Best of luck to the cast and crew. We look forward to hearing about your future success!

Movietime

Be careful what you wish for. Under Fire Studios is making the movie "Killer Ink" in Brighton this summer, starring Peter Mayhew, a.k.a. Chewbacca from "Star Wars."

The film begins shooting July 9. Written and directed by Lewis Leslie, according to a release, it is an "homage to the grindhouse slasher flicks of the '70s & '80s," and stars local musician/actor Christopher C. Romero of "Halloween 2" and "Things to Do in Denver When You're Dead." He plays a tattoo artist/serial killer. "It's been described as 'Dexter' meets 'American Psycho' " brags the release. Yikes!
